June 7, 2026: On the clash between community and membership

You may be asking “how does membership foster a vibrant community space that all can take part in?”

We understand - deeply - and have asked ourselves that countless times as we’ve built out this concept.

To boil down the thought process:

  1. A community space, by definition, should be one that benefits everyone. full stop. we are in agreement.

    • We are committed to having community spaces available, including open golf hours & community sauna hours (more on that later).

  2. Unfortunately, but naturally, like everyone, we have bills to pay to launch a space like this, and to keep it alive long-term.

    • this becomes more difficult when we are committed to taking as little outside help as possible. no outside investors that have equity stake. no competing ideas or running the space
